Numa Alternatives (2026): AI Phone Agents for Car Dealerships Compared
Numa is an AI system built for franchise car dealerships: a Voice AI that answers with the customer’s service history, an Appointment Agent that books into open service slots, a Smart Inbox for every call and text, LiveCSI and a sales agent. It connects to CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Tekion, Dealertrack and Xtime, says 1,500+ dealerships run it, and publishes no prices: you book a demo. The alternatives fall into two groups. Dealership platforms that also work from your DMS: Kimoby (the only one with public prices, Voice at $600 a month), STELLA Automotive AI, Impel and myKaarma. And general AI receptionists with public prices that answer, take messages and book, but don’t read your DMS: Goodcall from $79 a month, Rosie from $49, Phonely free for 100 minutes and Smith.ai free for 25 calls.
Ask every vendor one question: does the agent write the appointment into your DMS scheduler, or just send your team a message? That answer splits the dealership platforms from the general AI receptionists.
Numa alternatives for dealerships: Kimoby, STELLA, Impel and myKaarma, plus Goodcall, Rosie, Phonely and Smith.ai with public prices. Checked Oct 27, 2026.

Cost at your call volume
Every pick that publishes computable prices, priced in the unit it actually bills: minutes, calls or unique callers. Cheapest first; change the numbers to match your business.
Your numbers are remembered on this device and carried to Cozzo's other cost calculators.
1.Goodcall
$94.80/mo
Lowest at these numbers
Starter: $79 plan covers 100 unique callers + 20 extra × $0.79 = $15.80.
Billed on unique callers (120 at your numbers). Billed per unique customer per month, with no per-minute charges, so repeat calls from the same person and long calls don't add cost. Pricing page
2.Rosie
$149/mo
Scale: $149 plan includes 1,000 min.
Billed on minutes (600 at your numbers). English & Spanish on every plan. No per-minute overage: going past your minutes moves you up to the next plan, so Cozzo picks the smallest plan that covers your minutes. Pricing page
3.Smith.ai
$385/mo
Pro 150: $270 plan covers 150 calls + 50 extra × $2.30 = $115.00.
Billed on calls (200 at your numbers). Billed per call, so call length doesn't matter. Calls from known spammers are filtered out and don't count; Smith.ai also lets you remove up to 10% of calls a cycle as spam (re-checked 2026-10-23). At 1,000+ calls a month Smith.ai quotes custom pricing. Pricing page
Can't be priced from these numbers
- Phonely: Phonely's pricing page lists different included minutes in different places (200 vs 250 on Starter), so Cozzo won't guess.
Assumptions: published monthly prices before tax, cheapest plan that fits, no annual discount, no add-ons, English calls. Plans without a published overage are only used up to their included amount.
What to check before you choose
- Check write-back, not just answering. Numa says its agent books into real open service slots and writes the result back to the DMS. Ask every alternative the same thing; Goodcall, Rosie, Phonely and Smith.ai can book onto a calendar or take a message, but they don’t read your DMS or repair orders.
- Count calls the way each vendor bills. Service lanes get many repeat “is my car ready?” calls. Goodcall counts each phone number once a month, Rosie and Phonely count minutes (Rosie rounds every call up to a full minute), and Smith.ai counts calls.
- Ask about OEM programs. Numa is a GM iMR approved turnkey vendor and available through the FordDirect program, and says 240+ GM and 170+ Ford rooftops run it. Ask any dealership vendor whether your OEM program covers part of the cost.
- Get the all-in price in writing. Kimoby publishes list prices but adds onboarding ($2,000 virtual or $6,000 on-site) and DMS integration fees. Numa, STELLA, Impel and myKaarma quote per store.
- Keep financing details off the AI line. Let the agent book appointments and answer questions, and send anything about credit applications or loans to your F&I team.
- Call the agent yourself before you sign. Phonely’s free plan (100 minutes), Smith.ai’s free 25 calls, Goodcall’s free demo agent and Rosie’s 7-day trial all let you test service and sales calls first.
Questions people ask
What are the best alternatives to Numa?
For a franchise dealership that needs the AI to work from the DMS, compare Kimoby Voice, STELLA Automotive AI, Impel and myKaarma, which are all built for dealerships. For an independent shop or a store that mainly needs every call answered, general AI receptionists with public prices are cheaper to try: Goodcall from $79 a month (per caller), Rosie from $49 (250 minutes), Phonely free for 100 minutes and Smith.ai free for 25 calls.
How much does Numa cost?
Numa doesn’t publish prices; numa.com asks you to book a demo. Numa is a GM iMR approved turnkey vendor and available through the FordDirect program, so ask whether your OEM program covers part of it. Checked Oct 27, 2026.
Which Numa alternative publishes its prices?
Among dealership platforms, Kimoby: Kimoby Voice is $600 a month with unlimited minutes, added to its Service Lane OS ($700 or $1,600 a month at Tier 1, up to 500 work orders), plus onboarding from $2,000. STELLA, Impel and myKaarma don’t publish prices. All four general receptionists on this page publish theirs.
Can a general AI receptionist replace Numa?
For answering every call, taking messages and booking onto a calendar, yes, and for far less to start. What they don’t do is read your DMS: they can’t see a customer’s open repair order, tell them their car is waiting on a part, or book into your service scheduler. If that’s why you’re looking at Numa, stay with dealership platforms.
Which DMS systems does Numa connect to?
Numa lists CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Tekion, Dealertrack and Xtime, and says it has 90% DMS coverage across the industry. It says most dealerships go live in 2 to 3 weeks, with its own team handling the DMS integration, phone setup and training.
Is Numa only for franchise dealers?
Numa says it’s built for franchise dealerships and multi-rooftop groups with high call and text volume in fixed ops, but also fits single stores. Independent repair shops and used-car lots without a franchise DMS will usually get more from a general AI receptionist.
What’s the cheapest way to try an AI phone agent at a dealership?
Phonely’s free plan (100 minutes a month and a phone number, no payment needed), Smith.ai’s free plan (25 calls a month) or Goodcall’s free demo agent, which you can build and test before connecting a number. Forward only after-hours or overflow calls at first so you can check the results.
