What to check before you choose

  • Price your real volume first. $30,000 a year is $2,500 a month; at Bland's all-in $0.14/min that buys nearly 18,000 minutes, so many small and mid-size teams spend less on a per-minute platform. Above that, an enterprise contract's custom concurrency and launch support may be worth it.
  • If no-code was why you picked Synthflow, look at Retell first: it pairs a no-code flow builder with an API. Vapi, Bland, Ultravox and ElevenLabs are more developer-oriented, though ElevenLabs includes a workflow builder on every plan.
  • Compare the whole minute. Bland's $0.14/min includes LLM, transcription and voices; Ultravox's $0.05/min includes its speech model; Vapi's $0.05/min and Retell's $0.055/min voice infrastructure add model costs on top; ElevenLabs bills LLM usage separately from its $0.08/min.
  • Check concurrency on self-serve plans: Retell includes 20 concurrent calls, ElevenLabs 4 (Free) to 40 (Business), Bland Start 10 with a 100 calls/day cap, Ultravox pay-as-you-go 5, and Vapi 4 to start.
  • Need HIPAA? Retell offers a BAA without an enterprise contract; Vapi sells a $2,000/mo HIPAA add-on; Bland and ElevenLabs list BAAs on Enterprise. Get the BAA signed before patient data hits the line.
